Description

Thermasorb absorbent pads are used to remove and lock away unwanted liquids from most forms of packaging, whether in a small over-wrapped tray in a supermarket or a 40 foot shipping container travelling the high seas.

The Super Adsorbent Powder within rapidly adsorbs water-based liquids into a gel and keeps them away from produce or other moisture sensitive products during shipping and storage. The inability of the gel to pass back through the enclosing fabric provides leak-free absorbents and no fluid is released even under pressure.

RETAIL TRAY PADS

These soaker pads are usually found in the meat or fish cabinet at your local supermarket, absorbing unwanted liquids from your beef, pork, chicken, lamb or fish in wrapped trays. They keep the meat in better condition than when it soaks in its own juices, maintain great presentation and reduce mess in the kitchen. They can also be placed in bags with whole chickens, preventing chicken wash leakage during storage, transport and opening.

The key benefit of any gel-based absorbent is its ability to keep the liquid within the confines of the pad. Many small absorbent pads which do not use a Super Absorbent Powder will release liquid under pressure from the product or its wrapping. Thermasorb pads are designed to absorb and retain the fluid inside the pad, even under pressure.

SEAFOOD PADS

A wide array of sizes and designs of seafood pads means you can absorb liquids in most medium package sizes. Typically, these pads will be used in polystyrene or cardboard boxes of produce weighing up to 25kg. Absorbencies range from 1.2 litres to 4 litres per pad.

Seafood pads are absorbent pads designed for use with seafood products. These can be live or fresh seafoods being transported or stored.

The Seafood Pads are famed for their ability to absorb saline liquids like sea water. A 1.2 litre seafood pad holds…. you guessed it, 1.2 litres of fresh water. Total absorbency is reduced to 230ml with salt water at 2.5%. This is plenty for use with live shellfish, fish that have been cooled with salt water ice and for most saline applications. This salt water absorbency ability is better than almost all gel-based absorbent pads on the market today.

MEAT PADS (VACUUM PACKED)

Over time vacuum packed meat will lose some of it’s liquid. Preventing blook flow from opened vacuum packs of meat is simple and hygenic if a Meat Pad is plaiced in the package prior to vacuuming. Any blood in the package will be absorved and locked away inside the bag, maintaing good colour and appearance for a longer time.

The meat pad is different to the other adsorbents and is designed to withstand considerable pressure inside a vacuum pack and will not rupture the packaging. Mead pads can be used with any vacuum packed meat including beef, lamp, pork, venison, fish and chicken.
